Here’s a brief rundown of what’s new and how it can assist you.
Where to Find the New Branding Options
When creating an ad in Ads Manager, you now have a “Branding” option available under the Identity section. It appears below the Facebook page and Instagram profile that you have selected for the campaign.
This tool previously was the spot where you were able to add brand information like your logo, font, and color palette to automated pictures developed by AI. But now, the ability has been given to text also.
This makes it possible to now customize the look and the feel of AI-generated visuals and text to better reflect your brand personality.
What’s New? Text Tone and Visual Style
We’ll discuss the two important additions:
Text Tone
The Text Tone feature lets you decide voice and tone in AI-generated copy. Meta provides pre-set text tones, e.g., “confident, clear, and conversational,” alongside adjectives such as “knowledgable, helpful, and sometimes humorous.” Humor is not always appropriate for your brand, but this provides greater flexibility.
This is especially helpful because, in my experience, AI-recommended text can sometimes miss the mark. Now, with the ability to dictate the tone, the copy is more appropriate for your brand’s personality and messaging.
Visual Style
Visual Style helps create the AI-recommended backgrounds and imagery.
For example, with me, Meta has indicated to me my previous adverts and created a visual look that has my Pubcast brand along with specific colors. You can get to customize the settings so as to be in line with your preferred visual direction on your adverts.
The Impact of Custom Branding
These new capabilities allow you to fine-tune AI-created text and images to more closely align with your brand voice. With added control over tone and style, Meta is making it easier for advertisers to keep their campaigns consistent. This update may be especially worth it for brands that did not use AI for ad copy because they were concerned about how they would ensure brand consistency.
Have You Updated Your Branding Yet?
With all these new additions, it’s a great opportunity to revisit and review your branding settings in Ads Manager. Are you using the text tone and visual style that you’ve installed? How is the update influencing your ad performance?
